Motorola is reportedly rolling out the Android Marshmallow upgrade to the Moto E (2nd Gen) in India. According to a report by Android Authority, the update is 453.9MB in size and would be for the 4G LTE variant of the phone. In addition, it would include the security patch that was released in February 1 this year. The update would introduce Doze mode, Google Now on Tap, new app permissions, and more.
The Moto E (2nd Gen) was launched last year and comes with a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The 3G variant of the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 SoC with 1GB of RAM. It is equipped with a 2390mAh battery and 8GB of storage that can be expanded by up to 32GB via a microSD card. The company would later launch another variant of the device that supports 4G LTE. This device was almost the same as the original, except for the processor. The 4G variant of the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 410 SoC.
Motorola has already rolled out the Android Marshmallow v6.0 update to a number of its devices. A few days ago, it started rolling out the Marshmallow update to the Moto G (2nd Gen). The Moto X Style, Moto X (2nd Gen), Moto G (3rd Gen), and the Moto G Turbo Edition have also been updated to Marshmallow.
