Noted analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo estimates that five to seven million Galaxy Note 7 preorders will convert to iPhone 7 sales

The cancellation and recall of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 may lead additional sales for Apple. According to a report by 9to5 Mac, noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has estimated that five to seven million Note 7 orders will convert to iPhone 7 sales. Specifically, the iPhone 7 Plus, which sports 5.5-inch display and a dual-camera setup.

Kuo states that out of 12 million Note 7 preorders, Apple will be able to get about 50% of the customers, while the rest will be distributed amongst other Android manufacturers. The report notes that users at this range have shown little loyalty to a particular manufacturer and may be easily swayed to switch to iOS. Further, he states that Note 7 users have lost their faith in the brand.

The whole Galaxy Note 7 fiasco has definitely dented the reputation of Samsung and its Note series of devices. There are also reports which suggest that the company might even discontinue the 'Note' brand altogether. The company has already brought some features of the Galaxy Note 7 to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge line of phones. Specifically an updated version of the Always on Display.
