Amazon Freedom Sale 2019: Top five Smartphones to look out for
Here's our pick of the smartphones you should keep a lookout for to get a good deal on Amazon Freedom Sale from 8th August to 11th August
Amazon’s Freedom Sale will be going live from 12 noon, Wednesday for Amazon Prime members and from Thursday midnight for everyone else. With a variety of products offered with deep discounts and exchange offers, this is a good time to buy a smartphone, if you were hoping for a price drop and other offers to save some money. Having said that, not all smartphones are worth considering. The sale will also have a few older smartphones with deep price cuts which not be worth your money considering there are much better options to pick from. Here are the smartphones that are worth considering this Amazon Freedom Sale from 8th August to 11th August —
OnePlus 7/OnePlus 7 Pro (Buy it here)
The OnePlus 7 series is hands down one of the most value for money phones you can buy right now. Both phones offer the same raw performance even though they are aimed at different buyers. The OnePlus 7 is the affordable flagship while the OnePlus 7 is out an out premium. The major difference between the two is not in performance but in the experience. Both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The OnePlus 7 Pro in fact offers up to 12GB RAM. The OnePlus 7, however, looks ditto like the OnePlus 6T, only this time, the OnePlus 7 packs a 48MP primary camera along with a 5MP depth sensor which takes well-detailed photos. The OnePlus 7 Pro goes a step higher and packs three cameras. The same 48MP camera, along with a wide-angle and a telephoto lens, while the display has QHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Lastly, the OnePlus 7 Pro’s display stretches all the way to the edges, even curving around the edges thanks to a pop-up camera module on the front. Both the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro will be available to buy on Amazon during the Freedom Sale. We just hope there are some good exchange offers to sweeten the deal.
iPhone XR (Buy it here)
If you wanted to own the latest iPhone without paying an exorbitant amount of money, the iPhone XR should be the choice. Apple recently has been discounting the iPhone XR a lot, making it more affordable than the top-end variant of the OnePlus 7 Pro. The iPhone XR has the same performace as the flagship iPhones thanks to the same Apple A12 Bionic SoC. Just that the screen is an LCD (Apple calls it Liquid Retina) instead of OLED and the resolution is slightly higher than the usual HD resolution. Furthermore, it has a single camera on the back, which is also the same primary camera that’s there on the iPhone XS. Add to that the optimisations Apple put in place this time, the camera is quite capable. Furthermore, it has the same TrueDepth camera in the front that facilitates FaceID. Overall, the iPhone XR is the perfect gateway to Apple’s ecosystem, and we have an inkling that Amazon might offer a good discount on the iPhone XR.
Huawei P30 Pro (Buy it here)
The Huawei P30 Pro is one of the most feature-packed smartphones to launch this year. It has all the latest technology, especially in the camera where it manages to break new ground. The P30 Pro packs a quad-camera setup on the back, with a custom-made 40MP sensor leading the way. It also has a wide-angle lens and a periscope telephoto lens that can go up to 10X hybrid and 50X digital. Shooting the moon is what Huawei centered its marketing around, and while the shots are not perfect, the P30 Pro at least makes it possible. Under the hood is the 7nm Kirin 980 SoC and a HDR-certified display. The P30 Pro is every bit a flagship both from the outside and inside, and the Freedom Sale could see the phone getting a long-awaited price-cut.
Oppo K3 (Buy it here)
The Oppo K3 is one of the most affordable notch-less smartphones with a pop-up camera. It’s also quite powerful under the hood with a Snapdragon 710 keeping the lights on. There’s also up to 8GB RAM on offer and 128GB storage. On the back, the Oppo K3 offers a dual-camera setup with a 16MP primary sensor and 2MP a depth sensor. Topping it off is the presence of VOOC charge-supported 3765mAh battery and an AMOLED display.
Samsung Galaxy M30 (Buy it here)
The Samsung Galaxy M30 is Samsung’s weapon to take over the mid-range segment. Armed with an AMOLED panel and a gigantic 5,000mAh battery and a triple-camera stack on the back, the Galaxy M30 offers excellent value for money. The phone is often seen on discounts on Amazon India and we expect some deeper price-cuts during the Freedom Sale from 8th to 11th August.
Stay tuned for our curation of more deals and offers from Amazon during Freedom Sale 2019.
