The device runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) based OxygenOS 9.5.6 which gives an excellent user experience, Mention 3 Pros of your review device: Three Pros- Smoother Experience- As We all Know, OnePlus devices hardware are amazingly optimized with their software. It has a top-of-the-line Snap Dragon 855 Soc, and is available with either 6 or 8 GB of RAM,(I am having 6 GB of RAM) , Apps load in a flash, and there’s no noticeable slowdown while multitasking. Future Proof-Software Updates- As well known, OnePlus mainly focuses on making the smoothest Android experience and keeps the users interested in constant updates, always adding features, surveying the user base for enhancements and improvements. Unlocking options - As we know OnePlus 7 has an in-display fingerprint scanner, one of the fastest fingerprint scanners I have personally used. Face recognition is also supported, it's also quick to unlock the smartphone just by looking in its direction. Personally I am not a fan of Face recognition as the fingerprint scanner works absolutely well. Mention 3 Cons of your review device: Three Cons- Personally I really loved the overall package of OnePlus 7, but there are some things which I really don’t like. No 3.5 mm Jack- The most irritating part is OnePlus 7 does not have a 3.5 mm Jack, personally I am using wireless headset along with my Mobile but some times when the battery drains out of the headset , we really need a spare wired earphone for that purpose. I have to spend Extra Rs. 350 for the USB C converter as we don’t get a converter in the box itself. It Takes Smudges easily- One of the issue, I have faced with OnePlus 7, it takes smudges very easily at the Rear panmel, so I have to spend extra Rs. 200 for the Fiber back protection. Water Resistance- I wish OnePlus could offer an IP 67 and IP 68 water-resistant phone which could be a deal-breaking feature in this price segment. Write about the performance of your review device: As We all Know, OnePlus 7 is a seriously fast phone. It has a top-of-the-line Snap Dragon 855 Soc, and is available with either 6 or 8 GB of RAM,(I am having 6 GB of RAM) , Apps load in a flash, and there’s no noticeable slowdown while multitasking. Having higher RAM makes the device future proof. It also has Qualcomm Adreno 640, which also contributes to the fluid experience while gaming. OnePlus 7 was the only smartphone at the time of release, which was having Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 3.0 under Rs. 35,000. As we all know, UFS 3.0 phones are noticeably faster when it comes to reading or writing large chunks of data from or to the storage. Such cases include installing games or when you are moving a large file or folder from or to your phone. If we talk about the Gaming performance, OnePlus 7 can easily handle PUBG Mobile as well as COD: Mobile at its highest settings. As always OnePlus team has done an amazing optimization of its hardware with its own software OxygenOS which gives an fluid experience to its users, which can be clearly seen by using the smartphone in day to day usage as well as the benchmark results also proves it. Some of the benchmark results- AnTuTu: 367721 GeekBench: 11201 GFXBench: 36-40 fps Write about the software of your review device: OxygenOS- To be very honest, OxygenOS is one the most beloved Android skins today out there. There’s no denying that many prefer OnePlus’ skin thanks to constant support and updates that have made it the most reliable, stable and fastest way to experience Android today. I would like to 3 features of OxygenOS based on Android 10, Some of my favorite features such as Smart Reply, Zen Mode, App Locker, new navigation gestures and even the Dark Mode looks and works perfectly on OxygenOS. The Gaming Mode: It even has a dedicated gaming mode, which optimizes the overall hardware to achieve improved performance. It blocks all calls and notifications, stops the secondary SIM card (if you have one) to improve network speeds, and restricts background processes. Write about the battery life of your review device: The OnePlus 7 has a 3,700 mAh battery. That’s not huge in the grand scheme of things, but it is certainly large enough to consistently give well over a day’s battery life to a normal user. But what I really likes about OnePlus 7 it comes with a 20W fast charger bundled in the box. The charging speed is blazing fast, where it takes the battery to 50 percent in about 30 minutes. I am very much satisfied with the battery performance of this device. Write about the design and display of your device: The one thing I love about the design of OnePlus 7 is it does not feel uncomfortable or slippery in the hands and the weight of the smartphone is only 182 grams. Anyone can use it without constantly worrying about dropping it. OnePlus 7 comes with a 6.41 inch AMOLED displays with a drop notch (containing the selfie camera) and a full HD+ 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution along with HDR 10 support. It has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 in the front and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the rear panel which provides some good package of protection. On the back of the OnePlus 7 is the OnePlus logo, looking bold and contemporary. The name OnePlus is printed in silver towards the bottom edge. If we talk about the display, Its colors are bright and sharp, and it's great for watching videos, but it struggles in the direct sunlight situation. Your Smartphone's Camera Review So, OnePlus 7 is packed up with dual rear cameras at the rear, one 48 MP Wide Lens (f/1.6) and one 5 MP ( f/2.4) depth-sensing lens and a 16 MP (f/2.0) Selfie camera. To be very honest, I am not very impressed with the rear cameras as with the Selfie camera. The Rear camera uses an f/1.6 aperture and has OIS. The depth sensing is still good and detects edges nicely to leave the rest of the background blurred. The front camera is good too though under some conditions softens the face up rather a lot whether you opt for beautification or not. As a final verdict, the cameras segment is very much acceptable in the its price segment and overall OnePlus done a good job. Final Verdict..!! OnePlus 7 is a more practical flagship smartphone. You can get the its base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage for just Rs 32,999, which makes an amazing Value for money deal, OxygenOS is probably the best Android skin on the market, and the phone is significantly cheaper than many of its rivals.. Of course, the cameras could have been better, one would also expect water resistance but all those features will bump its cost. Reviewed By: Rohit Budhiraja OnePlus 7 128GB Price In India Starts From Rs. 29950
The best price of OnePlus 7 128GB is Rs. 29950 in Tatacliq, which is 0% less than the cost of OnePlus 7 128GB in Amazon Rs.29999.This Mobile Phones is expected to be available in 64GB,128GB,256GB variant(s). Extremely disappointed by Amazon. I bought this device during prime Day sale in exchange. I got a exchange value of 4K but today the value has gone up to 6K. This is extremely disappointing.. why would a person opt for prime day deal then? I have been using iPhone X and wanted a good Android experience. OnePlus was obviously my first choice considering all the praise it gets for it's superior software and I was proved right.
BATTERY:
After reading so many reviews here on Amazon I was confused about it's battery life since reviews were not consistent. Some said average, other said very good, beast and other things in praise. A good number of users also said it has HORRIBLE battery and that confused me even more but here's my experience.
I easily get over 8 hours of SOT with medium usage & heavy social media.
For casual users they can surely get 1.5 days of battery life. Definitely better than my iPhone X which I had to charge 2 times a day.
SPEAKER:
Speakers in this phone is really loud and vocals are too clear. Not deeper like iPhone X which sounds sweet, rich and more musical but I enjoy OP's speaker a lot, they are great for Media consumption. Most of the time I don't have to push it's volume above 60%. Dolby Atmos does produces wider soundstage. I was getting poor sound quality via Bluetooth earphones but I ordered OnePlus type c to 3.5mm passive adapter 2 days ago, let's see how it's internal DAC perform.
PERFORMANCE:
Very fast and smooth. Nothing to say here.
SOFTWARE:
I know both iOS and Android are in different league but still I want give my perspective based on performance.
iOS is so polished that it almost feels like gliding through the interface while navigating, I have never experienced any OS that fluid and smooth. It's just end of innovation in Mobile OS in terms of smoothness. You want to know what's Buttery smooth OS ? Try iOS.
Android being open source has its power and I like it for that.
I am not from any group of "Android vs iOS" Fanboys , I just enjoy using both the platforms and take advantage of what they can offer. For practical purpose I would say Android would be the wise choice but once you taste iOS' smoothness and fluidity you will easily forget every other OS.
I will keep using both the phones since they are both useful for me. And till now OnePlus 7 has been my experience among Android device.
One thing I want to add, this phone has very poor haptic engine. Coming from X with excellent vibration motors I feel the difference everytime I use. But it's not an issue for having the best Android experience. Today I have installed August security patch and that's impressive in terms of security of the OS & updates.
CAMERA:
It's good, acceptable. It clicks decent picture. Camera is not as fast as iPhone's but that's not the reason I went for this phone. It was only for the best Android experice and it delivered me
Also, I am not used to it's keyboard. I am almost slowed down by 2x after coming from iOS. I think once I adjust to this new device it will be easier.I miss iPhone's 3D touch gesture which I used to navigate through texts and other stuff.
DISPLAY: It is also very good and produces close to natural image in it's "Natural mode" which I am used to on iOS. I enabled DC dimming and it relaxed my eyes alot from AMOLED screen flickering which I never faced with iPhone's OLED.
In the end, I can safely say that If you want have best Android experience one should definitely pick this phone. It also has amazing battery life and speakers.
IMPORTANT:
I ordered 2 "type c to 3.5mm" adapter from official OnePlus India website. I got 250- discount coupon code after registering my device on its website.
So it's my advice for users who want to buy that accessory from OP's site to register your device first, coupn code will be applied automatically during checkout. One Plus 7 is a beast when it comes to processor ram speed and best part is camera on which one Plus truely works on . But as I am regular OnePlus user and used OnePlus phones earlier ; I found it same as rest of the OnePlus devices. When you buy a new phone you expect to have something different from your previous phone which gives you feel of a new phone . But it's similar as previous ones . Rest phone is a complete package with best camera good battery life and specially reasonable price. One plus 7 in mirror blue is really a good looking smartphone that provide all flagship value smartphone under 33k.
• look is stunning.
• low light performance of cemera is awesome.
• some optimisation is to done in camera ...
Verdict.
• battery life is good 6hrs 30mins to 7hours 30mins of SOT with 20-24hours of battery life depending upon users to user, Network strength and brightness level
And one plus is doing great in terms of camera updates so guys if your bugdet is under 33k and you want a good value flagship phone with great looks, then you can go through it. I am an absolute OnePlus fan. I have had a OnePlus since the X model was launched.
Moved on to OnePlus 3t, which I feel was their best phone till date.
I also happened to buy a Nokia 8.1 along with this device, and now that I compare the two; I realize the Nokia is a much more interesting device than this one.
Pros: UI is excellent. The oxygen UI is functional, easy to use, customisable, stock Android, safe and secure with zero bloatware. That is the main reason I love this brand so much.
Fast, and smooth with no lags yet. Multitasking is a breeze. I am quite confident it will continue to be like that for a long time. Since my 3T even after 2.5 years is fairly smooth still.
Call quality is great.
Network connectivity is good.
Cons:
Camera: This department in the OnePlus has always been a sore point. It clicks clear but visibly dull pictures, takes quite some time to focus, and they don't do anything new to spice up the camera experience, even though a major part of using a phone today is based on vibrant, clear fool photos.
I realised they don't have a live photo or a motion photo in the stock camera, and the gcam app is not compatible with this device.
Screen: I don't know if this problem pertains only to my phone or the OnePlus 7 in general; but the screen although bright is very dull. This is after adjusting the display to vivid, etc. None of the settings has been able to resolve this problem. OnePlus 3T has a far more vibrant display than this.
It's not a bad phone by any means. It's a boring phone. I am a fairly practical user, and don't believe in frills, and yet if this phone has refused to excite me as a user, I can imagine how badly it will disappoint the youth.
There's another thing I have realized, after watching nearly 30 odd reviews; that there is a huge brand royalty even among them.
Although non committal they seem to make the OnePlus look better than it is.
I hope as a OnePlus loyalist myself, to take note. I returned two times same product due to same problem. Anyone can do test on this product.
- call anyone from this phone and talk on speaker phone from your side
- and take feedback from listener of your call.
I don't know why this bug is missed by experts . Otherwise phone is very good. I'm in love with this flagship killer!!
Amazing quality and speed!!
Special mention for the unmatchable speed of fingerprint sensor for an in-display fingerprint scanner!!
Camera quality too is mind blowing.
Will surely add few pics in the coming days.
Also the dual speaker gives you awesome experience while streaming videosplaying games or even while listening to music.
Sounds quality is top notch!!
Would prefer this, than 7pro.. because even one plus are still exploring the pop up camera and the one installed on the one plus 7 pro is the first generation hardware component from the manufacturer, which might end up with some issues after an extended use of the device.
The notch on this phone is really small and it's absolutely fine having a notch than an untestednew hardware feature that is pop up camera!! When one are buyying a phone of more than 30000, the expectations is that the basic accessories should be there. Here the basic accessories like type C cable, earphones etc are not part of box. I understand, when the basic accessories are missing in the low cost model but not when you are buying high end phones. My question with the marketers of this phone is this all because to reduce to cost or to revenue because customer will buy accessories seperately. This is my first purchase of one plus, not happy with buy.
Not happy with performance also. Looks wise mobile is good and smooth in operation. But real requirement is camara which performs average.
Too heavy, camara is worst on this varient of One+7. Highly priced for ok ok features. MI's Redmi K 10 and k10 pro is far better when compared to One+7. I am really disappointed with its camara, hope it will be improved with updates. I think buying one plus 7 was a mistake. Earlier varient of one plus were better than this one.
Looking forward for updates that improves camara performance in both low and natural light.
After using this mobile for more than a month I would conclude, Putting 33K for this mobile is not worth.
Redmi 10K is better option.
Thanks Excellent bang for the buck. With identical performance specs as the pro this is no doubt a great quality phone. If you are wondering, this model works perfectly fine and it is .. So fast. So smooth. So responsive.
I have normally be away from colored phones but opted for the mirror blue version with this model. I am glad I did as it is
so glossy and is really quite nice.
**The camera is bit of a disappointment as the images shot lack a bit of crispiness, making the image smooth however, thats minimal and I'm sure you wont even recognize it.
I would definitely buy this phone again and recommend it to others. There is no other phone on the market with these performance specs, screen size and other features.
Once you try this you'll never go back to any other phone. It's the little things that counts.Digit Squad Reviews
