YouTube India appoints Gunjan Soni as Country Managing Director

Soni previously served as Group CEO at ZALORA and held senior roles at Star India and Myntra.

YouTube aims to accelerate creator growth and innovation under Soni’s leadership in India.

Gunjan Soni has been officially appointed the new Country Managing Director for India by YouTube. According to a press release from the company, Soni, who has more than 20 years of experience in business, technology, marketing, and e-commerce, will be in charge of YouTube’s operations and expansion plan in India.  

Soni previously worked as Group CEO at ZALORA in Singapore, where she oversaw initiatives such as category expansion and business model innovation. She has also held executive positions at Star India as Executive Vice President and Myntra as Chief Marketing Officer. She was formerly a partner in the marketing and consumer practice at McKinsey & Company. She currently serves on the CBRE Group board.

Soni stated that she is excited to expand YouTube’s presence in India and work alongside creators and partners across the platform.

“Witnessing how YouTube empowers creators and connects communities across India is truly inspiring.
