Apple iPhone 18e leaks: From price in India to specs, here is what to expect from iPhone 17e’s successor

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 18e alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 in India next year. While we are months away from a possible release, a recent leak tipped off the specifications and launch timeline of the device. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, cited by Gizmochina, the iPhone 18e could stick with a 60Hz refresh rate for the upcoming Apple handset. However, the company may upgrade the selfie camera to a 24MP camera setup.

DCS claims the iPhone 17e’s successor could pack a 6.12-inch LTPS OLED screen with 60Hz refresh rate. Previous reports claim that while the 18e may look similar to the existing 17e, the screen may shift to Dynamic Island instead of a notch. Under the hood, the offering could debut with an upgraded A20 processor based on a 2nm fabrication process, compared to the 17e’s A19 chip.

Moreover, the phone is anticipated to get 9GB RAM. Coming to the optics, the 18e may ship with a single 48MP rear camera and an upgraded 24MP selfie shooter, against the 12MP sensor of the iPhone 17e. Previous leaks suggest the iPhone 18e may debut with a C2 cellular modem, similar to the current iPhone 18 Pro models. Plus, the 18e may get iOS 17 out of the box.

Apple announced a major price hike across all its iPhone models in India with the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro series and iPhone Duo. iPhone 17e starts at Rs 79,900 in India after the recent price hike. The 18e is expected to debut in a similar price range. The pricing could sit in the sub-Rs 1 lakh category. It may debut in the country around March-April 2027.
