Apple announced its first slim-category device to take on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge in September last year. While its successor was expected at this year’s September Apple event alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series and iPhone Duo, the company remained silent on a release of the successor to the iPhone Air (first-generation). However, rumours now hint that the tech giant might introduce the iPhone Air 2 next year alongside the vanilla iPhone 18 and the more economical iPhone 18e. While we are still months away from the possible launch, the rumour mill has leaked several details about the device.

Display and design: Apple’s upcoming iPhone Air 2 is expected to pack a smaller Dynamic Island, similar to the latest Pro models. Plus, it may sport a thinner OLED panel for a more roomy chassis, while the other screen dimensions may remain unchanged. Further, the device may be slimmer at 5.2mm, compared to iPhone Air’s 5.6mm.
Processor: Similar to the iPhone 18 Pro series, the iPhone Air 2 will likely get an upgraded 2nm A20 Pro processor, compared to the current iPhone Air’s A19 Pro. The phone is expected to sport 12GB RAM and offer up to 1TB storage. Plus, Apple may also upgrade the Air 2 with the N2 wireless networking module and C2 5G chip.
