Xiaomi has unveiled the successor to its VR headset. Called the Mi VR Play 2, the new headset sports a new design, but is also made using a cloth-like material, but features ventilation holes for better air circulation around the user’s face. Chinese website, My Drivers has also posted a teaser image of the device, which suggests that the device will be available in China from April 16 at CNY 99 (approx. Rs. 925).

The first Mi VR Play headset was launched in China in August last year. It features a lycra body, along with a two-way zipper design for holding the phone when watching VR content. The cover also comes features two openings used to adjust the position of the phone while it is in the headset. The device could accommodate devices with screen sizes ranging from 4.7-inches to 5.7-inches. The Xiaomi Mi VR was launched in India in December at Rs. 999, and is capable of working with standard Google Cardboard based apps for viewing VR content. Samsung also recently unveiled a new version of its GearVR headset at MWC 2017. The new headset comes with a 101-degree field of view and comes with a separate controller.
