A U.S. representative wanted to sit with the semiconductor industry group on Tuesday to talk about the country’s chip business in China. According to a report by Reuters, Mike Gallagher, an influential Republican lawmaker, wants to limit China with their Semiconductor supplies. Gallagher says that restricting China to the United State’s investments and exports would help the U.S. in the future. They're worried about how much money the U.S. is putting into China's chip industry. This meeting was supposed to happen on Tuesday, but it got delayed because of scheduling problems. They haven't picked a new date yet.
The report further added that Mike Gallagher wants to talk with big chip companies like Nvidia and Intel. Both of these companies have been affected by the new U.S. rule to sell their chips to China, which was implemented in October last year.

Furthermore, Mike Gallagher wants the rules should be even stricter on both the advanced chips and the simple ones as well, for these chip companies. Not just that, the Wisconsin Republican Representative also wants to raise one more issue about restricting China with semiconductor manufacturing machines. He wants to reduce the number of machines that could be sent to China.
Some big semiconductor companies like Qualcomm, Inter, and more have invested in Chinese tech companies for chip manufacturing. In addition to that, they will also discuss how much money the U.S. is giving to Chinese chip companies.

Mike Gallagher is also worried about China making too much less advanced chips for everyday products such as automobiles, washing machines, and more. If China does this, then it will be very harmful to U.S.-based companies, as China can sell those chips at much cheaper prices.
