Social networking sites make family photo albums outdated
New study in UK reveals that 53% of the people prefer Facebook to share family pics than using traditional family albums.
People have stated using social networking sites like Facebook, etc., to share their family pictures leading to an end of the conventional family photo album according to a new study in the UK.
Samsung conducted a survey where they collected responses of more than 3,000 people for the study. According to the report, two thirds of Britons instead of making the family album prefer to share and catalogue their family pictures on computers, tablets or smartphones. One third claimed that they still used the traditional Family Album while 53% favored Facebook to share images.
“The growing trend in sharing photography online is also resulting in the death of the photo album,” Samsung said.
One Fifth of the people take photos just to post them on Facebook and 10 per cent of the people claimed that they uploaded their pics in less than a 60 seconds after clicking on their smartphones. A new trend has also come up where people prefer to take their own pics instead of their family and friends. About 30% of the people between the age group of 18-24 preferred taking “selfies”, where people capture their own image by keeping the camera at an arms length.
The new study found that on an average 1.9 billion photographs are captured every month in Britain only and more than 328 million of these pictures are shared online.
