This is not the first time Narendra Modi has taken to social networks to address the public. He has his own Instagram account and is also the second most popular leader on Facebook.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 18th National Conference for e-governance over Twitter yesterday. Modi took to Twitter early in the morning, connecting with over 9 million people who follow him on the micro-blogging social network. The PM explained that even though he was unable to be present at the conference in person, he didn’t want to miss it.

The National Conference for e-governance this year was about employability, digital governance and skill development. It was attended by delegates from the Armed Forces, Centra & State Governments, Industry & Private Sector and Academia.

In his tweets, Modi talked about the centres plans to push the Digital India initiative, along with plans to push m-Governance in the country. Here is a compilation of all his tweets.

There are other tweets too, which you can find on Modi's Twitter page here. This is one of the many times Modi has taken to social networks in order to interact with the public. He had earlier been ranked the second most popular leader on Facebook, while also being one of the very few leaders to have their own Instagram account.
