Perplexity Comet AI browser for iOS: Features

Comet for iOS includes a voice mode that allows users to ask questions by speaking instead of typing. The browser can understand what users are currently reading and provide researched answers without interrupting their browsing flow. The assistant can even analyse information across multiple open tabs.

The browser also offers a hybrid search experience. For quick and common searches such as local or fast information lookups, users will see traditional search results pages. At the same time, the Comet Assistant can generate deeper, AI-powered answers for more complex questions using the Perplexity answer engine.

Comet for iOS also includes access to Perplexity’s Deep Research engine. Users can open an article or webpage and ask the assistant to summarise key points, explain complex topics, or provide additional information with cited sources. Users can even ask the Assistant to share the summary in an email.

Another feature is task assistance. Users can ask the Comet Assistant to open a calendar event, research the meeting invitees on LinkedIn and the web, and then provide a quick brief and three custom questions to ask them. It can also help fill out sign-up forms.

Perplexity says Comet keeps browsing sessions connected across devices. This means users can start researching something on the desktop and continue the same thread on their iPhone.
