OnePlus Lab Program lets you get the OnePlus 6 before launch
OnePlus will give out its upcoming OnePlus 6 smartphone to 15 reviewers before launch to shoot hands-on videos and even publish a full review of OnePlus 6 after which, they get to keep the device.
If you’re someone who just cannot wait to get their hand on the OnePlus 6, there is some very good news for you. The Company is bringing back its ‘Lab,’ a program where select individuals get a chance to review the OnePlus 6. The good part here is that the said individuals get the OnePlus 6 before launch, being some of the first people in the world to review the phone. As part of the Lab program, once you receive the device, you will be able to publish a hands-on video and an in-depth review of the OnePlus 6, influencing the decision of thousand other OnePlus fans. Once the reviews are done, you get to keep the device and call it your own. You will need to submit an application form to be a part of the Lab program, the submission for which is open until May 3, 7:30 AM IST. Of all the submissions, only 15 people will be selected to review the OnePlus 6 ahead of its launch.
Surprisingly, the terms and conditions for the Lab program are simple and straightforward and are listed below:
- Entries in English Only.
- If chosen, you agree to complete all requirements on time and in an honest manner; if you are not able to do so, you agree to return the device in its original condition and give your spot to the next candidate.
- As a reviewer, you agree to provide OnePlus with the free right to use and publish any production materials (video, pictures, articles, etc.) that are generated and submitted during the review period.
- When you apply, your entry will be added automatically to an internal backup reviewer list. We reserve the right to contact backup reviewers for additional review purposes during the selection period.
- OnePlus reserves all rights to this event. The views and opinions expressed do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of OnePlus.
What this also means is that if you are not selected ass part of the top 15, there is still a possibility of OnePlus reaching out to you for a review, so don’t lose hope. In addition to the Lab program, OnePlus also announced that they will crowd-source the ideas for the advertisement for the OnePlus 6. The company published a bare-bones advertisement on its YouTube page asking users for suggestions. People can share their ideas by tweeting with #NeverSettleFilm, commenting on the YouTube video, or on the company’s forum. Each time the company likes an idea, it will upload a new video with the idea incorporated, until the final OnePlus 6 ad is complete. In return, those people whose suggestions were used will get their name featured in the end credit of the ad.
The OnePlus 6 is the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone and we know that it will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 6GB/8GB of RAM. There is also talk of a 256GB storage variant of the device. We know it will sport an 18:9 display with a notch, and in general, will be the fastest smartphone produced by OnePlus. As of now, there is no official word on a launch date or price.
