Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Hacking Arts event kicks off tomorrow and the im of the event is to foster community and celebrating innovation in the fields of design, fashion, film/video, gaming, music, performing arts, virtual/augmented reality and visual arts.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Hacking Arts event kicks of tomorrow. This will be the fifth iteration of the event and will go on till November 12. It will be held at the MIT Media Lab,and will bring together creative technologists, artists, innovators and hackers. The aim of the event is to foster community and celebrating innovation in the fields of design, fashion, film/video, gaming, music, performing arts, virtual/augmented reality and visual arts.

Hacking Arts is organized by the MIT Sloan School of Management Entertainment, Media & Sports Club in partnership with MIT's Center for Art, Science, and Technology and the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship.

The event will host three separate events,namely the Hackathon, the Conference and the Tech Expo. The Hackathon will see participants take on challenges at the cutting edge of art and technology. The Conference will allow participants to engage with innovators and will cover fields ranging from dance and robotics to biotech’s influence on the arts. The Tech Expo will allow participants to get up close with interactive artwork and new tools from innovators, representatives, local artists and technologists.

The 2016 edition of Hacking Arts was organised by a team of over 40 people. The event hosted over 1000 people between attendees, panelists, speakers, artists and hackers at MIT Media Lab. You can view highlights of the event in the video below.
