Meta is reportedly working on a new wearable lineup with plans to introduce new upgraded smart glasses. The company may also step in the smartwatches, and other wearable segments in the coming years, claimed a Bloomberg report. Additionally, the company is also working on its first true augmented reality (AR) product, targeting a release by 2027.
SurveyAccording to Bloomberg, Meta is planning to release Oakley-branded smart glasses for athletes in 2025 as part of a larger effort to improve its hardware offerings. Furthermore, the company is developing high-end smart glasses with built-in displays under the codename Hypernova. On the other hand, the company is also working on existing smart glasses, which are currently marketed under the Ray-Ban brand. These glasses already have cameras, microphones, and music playback capabilities. The company is reportedly working on a new version called Supernova 2, which is aimed at athletes. The report also stated that the camera would be moved to the center of the frame.

Furthermore, Meta is reportedly developing a smartwatch with a display for viewing photos taken with the smart glasses, indicating another step toward an integrated, wearable ecosystem.
