Leica cameras will be available online in India exclusively through Amazon

German camera manufacturer, Leica has announced that it will be selling its camera range online in India exclusively on Amazon.in. To start with, Leica will initially offer three camera models on Amazon. These include the Sofort, D-lux and V-lux, which are priced at Rs 25,000, Rs 85,000 and Rs 90,000 respectively. Besides the cameras, the company will also be offering its range of accessories such as carry cases, straps, binoculars and more.
Sunil Kaul, Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Leica Camera stated, “The photography industry is booming in India and we are committed to creating and building a community around the brand by connecting with our target customers. This partnership with Amazon India is a great opportunity for us to create a strong online presence and engage with our customers effectively across the country.”
It was also noted that the cameras will be available via no cost EMI offers from all leading banks on Amazon. Further, these products will also be eligible for Prime, with next day delivery in most cities in India.
Back in November last year, Leica officially entered the Indian market and opened its first partner store in Connaught Place, Delhi. The entire range that Leica brought to India include the S, SL, Q, M, V-Lux and D-Lux series. The SL range starts from Rs 4.65 lakhs, whereas the M10 range will start from 3 lakhs. The S range starts from 14 lakhs and the Lenses range starts from Rs 1.5 Lakhs. The remaining camera models should be made availble for purchase on Amazon soon.
