iOS 19 leaks: Major redesign with floating tabs, round icons, and more is coming to your iPhone
Floating tab bars and redesigned search UI may come to core Apple apps.
System elements like menus, sliders, and toggles get a sleeker, rounded look.
iOS 19 may introduce subtle lighting effects and refined Control Center design.
Apple iOS 19 is rumoured to be a major update for iPhone users. The next-generation update, which is expected to arrive with the iPhone 17 series, will feature a complete design overhaul, including rounder app icons, a floating tab system, and interface elements inspired by visionOS. In the most recent update, a video shared by reliable tipster Jon Prosser on FrontPageTech reveals mockups based on internal builds of iOS 19.
SurveyThe redesigned Tab View is said to float slightly above the bottom of the screen, providing a more dynamic and spatial layout, much like Apple’s most recent AR/VR platform.
Additionally, the company might launch the floating tab bar in the shape of a pill that sits at the bottom of essential Apple apps like Music, Messages, and the App Store. This new tab bar has an integrated search function and slick transition animations. The search bar has been redesigned with rounded buttons and an elongated shape, and it remains visible in programs like Messages.

The redesign in iOS 19 applies to a variety of system elements. Menus, sliders, and toggles have been slimmed down, with softer, rounded edges that complement the new glass-like aesthetic. The Control Center’s haptic touch menus, volume controls, and brightness sliders may also have smoother and more refined curves. The camera and microphone access have been updated with a new visual design.
The update will also include subtle lighting effects to improve the “glassy” look. Lock Screen shortcuts such as Flashlight and Camera may gain a shimmery appearance. The Settings app and keyboard will also be slightly redesigned for consistency.
In terms of release timeline, the first beta version of iOS 19 is expected to be released immediately following Apple’s WWDC keynote on June 9, with a public rollout expected in September 2025.
