Sharing photos, videos and documents between phones should be simple. In real life, it often isn’t. Families and friends get stuck because some people use Android and others use iPhones, and moving even a single video between them turns into a mess of emails or compressed WhatsApp files. Well, Google is taking a big step to fix that. The tech giant has announced that its Quick Share feature can now work with Apple’s AirDrop, letting Android and iPhone users share files more easily with each other.

With this update, Google wants to make cross-platform sharing feel closer to how things already work when two people both have iPhones, or both have Android phones.
Google also says it designed this new sharing option with security in mind. “We built this with security at its core, protecting your data with strong safeguards that were tested by independent security experts,” the tech giant explains.
This move also aligns with Google’s larger push to make Android and iOS work smoothly together. The company has already worked on things like RCS messaging and unknown tracker alerts.
However, there is an important catch: For now, this new Quick Share and AirDrop compatibility is only rolling out to the Pixel 10 series models. That means if you don’t have a Pixel 10 device, you won’t be able to use this feature yet. Google says it plans to improve this feature and expand it to more Android phones in the future.
