Google Knowledge Graph adds concerts and Ticket searches
HIGHLIGHTS

Google Knowledge Graph adds events, includes ticket links, venues and listings.

Google has announced code-based improvements in its event Knowledge graph data. Search results will now display official ticket links, comedian events, venues and event listings.

According to a Google Blog post, web developers will now be able to write the markup — or HTML code directly into the site's code or implement a widget or plug-in that creates the markup. The structured data used by a ticketer's web developer is able to point Google to the relevant information like an event page or ticket link so it can include it in search results. Web developers can take the markup from Google's schema.org or they can install an events widget from Songkick, BandPage, Bandsintown or Gigpress .

John Loken, evp Ticketmaster North America stated, that the company has been using Google's markup, has been working with the internet giant for "a couple of years" to make easier to buy tickets and find events. He added, "We're helping [Google] give official, structured information."

Apart from Ticketmaster, Google has also partnered with TicketWeb, Ticketfly, AXS, ShowClix as well as a number of other primary ticketing companies. Any venue or event which uses the primary ticketing company which employs this markup is automatically included in Google search results. Google has been making efforts to improve the information provided in music search results. Last year, the internet giant had started working with artist site developers to use a similar markup on artist's official sites. So if anyone searchers with the artists name, they will be given all the information regarding the artists upcoming concerts, etc.
