In the coming weeks, users will start seeing posts from platforms like Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube Shorts added directly into their Discover feed. Google says more platforms will be added over time.

The update is designed to bring everything together in one place. According to Google, research showed that users enjoy having a mix of articles, videos, and social updates in Discover.

Another new feature will let users follow their favourite publishers or creators. By tapping on a name in Discover, users can preview the kind of content that the publisher or creator shares, including articles, YouTube videos, and social posts. Once they choose to follow, Discover will highlight more of that content in their feed. To use this feature, people just need to be signed into their Google Account.

“We’re focused on helping publishers and creators connect with their audiences in Search. We recently added the ability to choose preferred news sources in Top Stories. And we’ll continue to add even more ways for people to connect directly with the publishers and creators they love in Discover,” the tech giant explained. “With these updates, we aim to make Discover a more helpful jumping-off point for exploring the content you love.”
