Tesla’s Optimus is now capable of self-calibrating its arms and legs. Using only vision and joint position encoders, it can precisely locate its limbs in space.

The video shared by the official @Tesla_Optimus account, has already crossed 10.9 million views.

Several users expressed their thoughts on these new improvements. While one user said, ”Robotics/AI is the future!” another commented, “Life will be so much better when machines do all the work for us, especially when everyone has machines that run other machines. I’ve dreamed about this my whole life.”

Optimus was first introduced by Elon Musk last year during Tesla’s AI Day. Musk said that Tesla could bring this robot to market for “less than $20,000”. When announced, Tesla CEO had also said, “Our goal is to make a useful humanoid robot as quickly as possible.” According to the company, Optimus is an “extremely capable robot,”

Tesla had presented a video of the robot performing tasks in a controlled environment to demonstrate some level of usefulness. The company also showed a video of the robot working at an actual workstation at the Fremont factory.

Optimus robot is equipped with Tesla-designed actuators, a battery pack, and power electronics.
