A market defined by demand and scarcity

The report finds that AI professionals in the UAE command some of the strongest compensation packages in the world, amplified by the country’s tax-free income structure. According to the report, entry-level AI roles start at approximately AED 25,000 per month, mid-level professionals earn between AED 35,000 and AED 45,000, and senior AI and data science roles regularly exceed AED 80,000 monthly. With 76 percent of employers reporting difficulty filling open AI roles, competition for talent remains fierce across both government and private sectors.

National strategy drives long-term opportunity

The UAE’s AI Strategy 2031 targets AED 335 billion in economic value generation through AI, representing nearly 20 percent of non-oil GDP. This policy commitment, paired with investments from global firms including Microsoft, Google, Oracle, and NVIDIA, is creating a sustained pipeline of high-value roles across machine learning engineering, data science, NLP, and AI solutions architecture.

Sector and regional breakdown

The report maps salary ranges across technology, banking, healthcare, real estate, and digital marketing sectors, and provides a regional breakdown covering Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and free zone ecosystems. Technology and finance lead pay growth, while healthcare and energy sectors show rising demand for AI-enabled professionals.

Challenges the market must address

Despite strong momentum, the report highlights a widening skills gap, heavy reliance on expatriate talent, and gender representation gaps in senior AI roles. Women currently account for 23.8 percent of generative AI learners in the UAE, below the global average of 31 percent.
