HIGHLIGHTS

Google’s next-gen Chromecast has been in the news for quite some time.

Throughout the leaks, it has been called Sabrina.

As per the leaked box, it looks like the leaks about the upcoming streaming dongle were true.

We’ve seen Google’s upcoming successor to the Chromecast leak multiple times online. From the specs to the features and even the inclusion of a remote control, a lot has been leaked about the upcoming Chromecast online. We now have a look at the retail box of the upcoming Chromecast. A video of the retail box of the streaming stick has made its way online. Reddit user jsterninja has shown off the box of the device, but sadly there is no unboxing to show us the contents of the box.

The box of the new Chromecast clearly highlights that the device will be capable of 4K and HDR. The front of the box shows the dongle, which has leaked multiple times, along with the remote control as well.

Google has been pushing Stadia, its cloud gaming platform, to work with the current-gen Chromecast Ultra and it is possible that we could see some Stadia specific enhancements on this device. With Android TV 11 we have seen features like Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) make an appearance. So, it is possible that ALLM mode makes an appearance for other games downloaded from the Play Store.

Android 11 on TV may not bring with it a visual change but it does bring improvements under the hood, which you can check out here

What remains to be seen is how Google prices and positions the new Chromecast. In India, we have devices like the Mi Box 4K, Mi TV Stick, Nokia Media Streamer, Apple TV 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K and more. So, the new Chromecast will face tough competition, especially in a price-sensitive market like India.
