Why it matters
The Pixel Buds 2a, priced at Rs 12,999 in India, is positioned as the affordable model in Google’s lineup, yet it remains a premium purchase for many users in the market. The company’s latest move brings its after-sales experience closer to competing brands like Apple, which already sells standalone earbuds and accessories through its stores. Direct sales of replacement parts reduce turnaround times for users who lose or damage one side of the earbuds. For Indian buyers, this also signals Google’s growing focus on providing better post-purchase support for its hardware ecosystem, aligning with its broader device expansion strategy.
The Buds 2a, by the way, feature a lightweight design with a secure twist-to-adjust stabiliser, 11 mm drivers, ANC, and Google’s AI-powered audio tuning. The buds support Bluetooth Super Wideband, Clear Calling claims, hands-free Assistant access, and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. Battery life extends up to 27 hours (with case) on a single charge without ANC.
