Specifications and features
The Devialet Mania Opéra Rouge packs six drivers in total, including four aluminium full-range units and two woofers, promising a 360-degree sound field. This is backed by six Class-D amplifiers, out of which two are rated at 38W for the woofers and four at 25W for the full-range drivers. The device can power a maximum sound level of 95dB SPL at one metre.

At its core is a quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, along with Devialet’s proprietary audio algorithms such as Speaker Active Matching (SAM) and Active Stereo Calibration (ASC). The SAM technology allows the speaker to recognize and adapt the sound signal to its drivers’ specifics. This could reduce distortion and improve bass output. Meanwhile, ASC uses four built-in microphones to detect the speaker’s position in a room and automatically adapts the speaker’s sound to its surroundings.
The 3200mAh in-built battery supports up to 10 hours of continuous playback and charges via USB-C PD at 12V/2.5A.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz, supporting 802.11a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 5.0 with A2DP and AVRCP profiles, and compatibility with both AAC and SBC codecs. It also supports AirPlay and Spotify Connect for direct streaming across devices. Control and updates are managed through the Devialet App, available for iOS and Android.
The Mania Opéra Rouge integrates Amazon Alexa to control music playback, adjust volume, or manage smart home devices through voice commands when connected to Wi-Fi.
The Opéra Rouge variant’s build includes IPX4 splash resistance, making it suitable for semi-outdoor use. The speaker measures 176 x 193 x 139 mm, weighs 2.3 kg.
At its current asking price, it s not just a luxury purchase, but a collector’s product, and competes in the ultra-premium segment with options like the Bang & Olufsen Beosound A5, Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin, etc.
