Meta AI makes WhatsApp, Instagram, and Messenger more interesting: Celebrity chatbots, Restyle tools, and more
HIGHLIGHTS

Meta has introduced chatbots for Instagram, Messenger, as well as WhatsApp.

Meta has introduced the ‘Meta AI’ beta version in the US for now.

Meta even shared a list of celebrity AI chatbots which includes the likes of Charli D'Amelio, Chris Paul, MrBeast, Kendall Jenner, and 24 others.

When it comes to updates and incorporating newer things, Meta is usually on its toes. And now, the tech giant is possibly up with another feature, this time it’s more to do with AI. We hear that Meta could soon roll out AI-powered bots, across its platforms- Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp. This could be similar to Snapchat’s already existing AI bot.

Well, truth be told, we were expecting Meta to come forward with its own chatbot and other Generative AI features soon as it wouldn’t want to lag behind in the race with ChatGPT, Google Bard, and Bing Chat already attracting traction.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg mentioned about his company’s plan to develop AI-based experiences on its platforms. This means text-based experiences for Messenger and WhatsApp and image-based experiences for Instagram, on the other hand. Zuckerberg had further hinted that his company plans big plans for utilising Generative AI across the platforms. This was his way of saying that AI chatbots and other things will soon be a part of Meta’s platforms.

And now, finally, Meta has introduced chatbots for Instagram, Messenger, as well as WhatsApp. Meta has introduced the ‘Meta AI’ beta version in the US for now. It runs on Llama 2 to solve the user’s queries by searching on the internet. For this, Meta has partnered with Microsoft Bing.

Speaking on Instagram first, Meta has introduced various AI editing features that will be powered by Emu’s technology. One such is the “Restyle” tool which allows you to add visual effects to your pictures based on the text description you give. And then there’s also “Backdrop” with the help of which you can replace the background with something you like.

Meta is promoting the new chatbot on WhatsApp as a cool tool that you can use to plan your trip. If you want to do that, then just type  “@MetaAI /imagine”. After that enter what you’re exactly looking for, basically the prompt, and leave the rest on Meta AI.

On top of all this, Meta even shared a list of celebrity AI chatbots which includes the likes of Snoop Dog, Kendall Jenner, Chris Paul, MrBeast, and 24 others.

With this feat in hand, Meta plans to release Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and Quest 3, as per its blog.

But don’t get excited just yet, most of these features are still in the Beta version and we need to hear from Meta when they plan on releasing it.
