Google Chrome for iOS makes it easier to manage multiple accounts, here’s how
Google makes switching between personal and work accounts much simpler in the Chrome browser on iOS.
Work and personal data like tabs, history, and passwords are kept separate.
It is especially helpful for those who use their mobile devices for both personal and professional tasks.
If you’ve ever had to juggle between your personal and work Google accounts on an iPhone, you know how frustrating it can be. Until now, iOS users had to log out of one account and then log in again with another, repeating the process every time they needed to switch. But that’s about to change.
SurveyGoogle has announced a new feature that makes switching between personal and work accounts much simpler in the Chrome browser on iOS. Users can now move between accounts without having to sign out completely. This change is especially helpful for those who use their mobile devices for both personal and professional tasks.

“People often use their mobile device for both work and personal tasks, requiring them to sign in and out with different Google Accounts,” the tech giant said in a blogpost. “To simplify this experience while tightening security, Chrome on iOS is now offering seamless account switching with data separation for managed accounts.”
When users sign in or switch to their work account, Chrome will keep work-related data such as tabs, history and passwords separate from personal browsing data. This ensures that all information related to an organisation stays within the managed account and doesn’t mix with personal use.
The update comes as Google notes that many organisations are moving away from issuing company phones, leading employees to access work resources on their personal devices. Google says the improved account switching experience and data separation “better enables businesses to allow employees to use their device of choice.” The first time someone switches to a managed account, they’ll see a screen explaining how the new browsing separation works and how their data is managed by the organisation.

In addition to easier switching, Google announced that Chrome Enterprise’s reporting tools are now available on both Android and iOS. Google is also bringing URL filtering on iOS, so companies can block access to certain websites and redirect users to approved services.
