How to book train tickets using SwaRail app on Android phones
Swarail, the new all-in-one railway app launched by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) a few months back, is now available for download on the Play Store and App Store. Touted as a “SuperApp,” it offers all IRCTC services, including booking tickets, tracking PNR status, train running status, and more, on one platform. Though it’s currently in beta phase, users can access it by using their existing IRCTC Rail Connect accounts or creating a new one.
Here’s everything we know about the SwaRail app and how to book tickets via this app
SwaRail App: How it works
The new SwaRail App lets you book reserved, unreserved, and platform tickets, eliminating long wait times. The app has an easy interface that allows users to navigate through multiple options with just one click. You can search for trains, check PNR status, see the position of your coach, track trains in real time, order food, ask railway authorities for help, give feedback, and file for ticket refunds—all from the home screen only.
Additionally, the app also has a dedicated My Bookings section that lets users quickly check all their railway bookings.
Furthermore, the SwaRail App also offers large shipment services, which users can find under the Menu button from the bottom bar. To enable the service, you will be required to turn on the toggle for “Large Shipment Services” under “Show/Hide Services.”
Notably, users can log in to the app either by using Face ID on iPhone or scanning your fingerprint sensor on Android phones.
