All about teamwork

When asked about how their coordination was on the day of the finals, the answer was direct. They were simply at their best which led to them lifting that trophy. In Valorant, flashy individual plays can win rounds, but structured teamwork wins finals. Rektt focused on communication, clean executes and trusting each other in clutch moments. That discipline showed throughout the match.

The team also identifies as high sensitivity players. In gaming terms, high sensitivity allows faster camera movement with smaller mouse inputs. It suits aggressive plays and quick reactions, especially in close range duels. Their preference reflects their confidence. They were not playing cautiously. They were playing to dominate space and control tempo.

In addition to this, they added that the flawless technical execution of the event was something they were experiencing for the first time. The players admitted that many LAN tournaments struggle with connectivity issues or hardware problems. This time, there were none. The systems worked perfectly and there were no connection issues. And this allowed them to focus entirely on strategy and performance.

When asked about their experience, the team said, “It was a great experience. The setup and everything provided to us was just amazing. It has been our best LAN experience so far.”

Classes in the morning, scrims in the evening

Behind every clean execution and every coordinated push lies routine. Team Rektt may be champions now, but they are still college students figuring out deadlines and attendance. When asked how they manage both worlds, one player joked that they simply take leave from college. Another added that they attend classes in the morning and find time for gaming in the evening. According to them, the schedule does not feel exhausting. It has become a habit.

This dual life is common in Indian college esports. Players squeeze in practice sessions after lectures, scrim late into the night and still show up for exams. It requires discipline beyond the server. Rektt’s ability to manage both academics and competitive gaming reflects maturity that often goes unnoticed.

Their journey also highlights a larger issue. When asked what esports players need more of, Rektt did not mention huge prize pools. They instead spoke about opportunities to compete on LAN stages and greater exposure to PC gaming. For many college teams, online tournaments are the only platform. LAN events bring a different level of pressure and learning. And Team Rektt believes more players deserve that experience.

More than just a trophy

After all the talk about strategy and sensitivity settings, it was time to look at the day with an emotional lens. When asked who this trophy is for, one player dedicated the trophy to his parents, who were present at the venue. He said he would not have reached this stage without their support. And we all know that in competitive gaming, family backing often makes the difference between quitting early and pushing through setbacks.

Another player dedicated the win to his brother. These small acknowledgements reveal the emotional layer behind competitive success. Esports careers, especially at the college level, are built on belief. Sometimes that belief comes from teammates. Sometimes it comes from family members who show up in the crowd.

When the lights dimmed and the applause faded, Team Rektt walked away not just with a title, but with validation. Their win at the SKOAR! College Cup Delhi Edition was proof that college gamers are ready for bigger platforms. And if given more stages like this, they are prepared to rise again.
