Apple is likely to launch the next smartphone lineup in September 2025, and reports suggest some significant changes. The company is expected to introduce four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The new iPhone 17 is likely to feature a bigger display, improved performance, and camera enhancements while also borrowing some features from the Pro models. Here’s what we know so far about the standard iPhone 17 model.

The iPhone 17 is expected to have a similar design to the iPhone 16, keeping the vertical dual-camera setup and pill-shaped camera bump. However, Apple might slightly increase the screen size from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, making it closer in size to the iPhone 16 Pro.
A major upgrade could be the addition of ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate, which was previously limited to Pro models. Apple is also rumoured to introduce an anti-reflective, scratch-resistant coating for better durability.

iPhone 17 vs iPhone 16 camera upgrades (Expected)
One of the most exciting changes could be the front camera upgrade. The iPhone 17 is rumoured to feature a 24MP selfie camera, doubling the resolution of the 12MP camera found in the iPhone 16.
However, the rear camera setup is expected to remain the same, featuring a dual-camera system like its predecessor. Apple may still improve image processing for better low-light photography.

As for pricing, the iPhone 17 is expected to start at $799 (approximately Rs 79,900 in India), similar to the iPhone 16. Apple typically unveils new iPhones in September, and the iPhone 17 series is expected to launch between September 11-13, 2025.
