Just like the Forsa GT 520, this card is not geared for gaming. It's ideal for an HTPC set up and consumes very low power. The passive heat means that it operates without any fan noise. Temperatures delta is around 12 degrees C which is quite good. Pricing is also very attractive for someone looking at a non gaming card.
Features: XFX HD 6450 features a half height form factor, perfect for setting it up inside an HTPC rig with a small cabinet. It also bundles a half height adapter. Clocked at 625 MHz, it has only 160 stream processors which are not meant for gaming, but will work wonders if you have a lot of HD or Blu-ray HD videos. The VGA Port can be disconnected if you don't need it. The Eyefinity support allows you to connect the card to upto three screens.
Design and Build: Even though the reference card has a fan on it, XFX has a fanless design. Heat sink is passive and is surrounds one side completely and half of the other side. It can easily fit inside a mini itx cabinet thanks to its form factor.
Performance: The scores indicate that this is not a card you will use for gaming. Barring Dirt 3, all other gaming benchmarks scored under 10 FPS.Even at lower resolutions there isnt much juice to play comfortably. It is best for watching HD content, where the CPU utilisation is very low which keeps the CPU free to perform other tasks in the background while you are watching your HD content.
