Overall the X100 is impressive and the price point is attractive. All of these factors make it a Digit recommended purchase. If at all we have a problem with the X100, it would have to do with its fea-ture set. Few more useful features such as the ability to daisychain other X100s would’ve been great.
For a bit Logitech was pushing its Ultimate Ears branded Bluetooth speakers in the Indian market. Now it seems the company has diversified its lineup with speakers that are branded Logitech and not UE. This little X100 speaker, which looks sort of like the modern day rendition of a fob chain watch, is one such speaker.Though the speaker doesn’t carry the UE branding, it certainly has borrowed from the design language that UE had created for itself – matte materials, bright colours and large minimalist chunky buttons. All of these elements can be found on the X100. The one we got for review was an orange and blue variant – one of five options available. A bright orange grille and blue body could’ve made for a garish combo, but surprisingly it looks quite nice.
The build is also pretty sturdy. We didn’t really drop test it but it looks like a device that can certainly withstand a few drops. In terms of performance it’s one of the better speakers we’ve tested in this form factor and price bracket. One of the biggest pluses was that while it’s loud, the speaker doesn’t overdrive its driver to the point of distortion. The speaker doubles up as a conference call device and the microphone quality is decent. The five hour battery life claim isn’t far fetched. Overall the X100 is impressive and the price point is attractive. All of these factors make it a Digit recommended purchase. If at all we have a problem with the X100, it would have to do with its feature set. Few more useful features such as the ability to daisychain other X100s would’ve been great.
