Sony at IFA 2014: SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk
HIGHLIGHTS

This year at IFA, Sony has introduced two brand new wearable devices, both of which have a display and keep a tab on your firtness as well

Probably the first ones to bring in wearable devices, Sony hasn't been that popular in this segment and it definitely needed upgrades. Well the company has announced upgraded versions of the SmartWatch and the SmartBand at IFA 2014 which is happening in Berlin.

SmartWatch 3

The SmartWatch and SmartWatch 2 were quite a disaster but thanks to the support from Google  Sony now offers Android Wear on its new SmartWatch 3. It has a similar look as the previous version with a plastic strap and a very straight and simple design. You can change the strap and the SmartWatch 3 comes with a 1.6-inch 320×320 display, a 1.2GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor, 512MB of RAM, and a 420mAh battery. It will be waterproof thanks to the IP68 rating and will be available in black and green at the time of launch.

SmartBand Talk

The SmartBand was a very discreet looking fitness band which lacked a few features but now we have the SmartBand Talk which looks quite similar to its predecessor but with  a 1.4-inch e-ink dsplay showing text at 192 dpi. The SmartBand Talk can make and receive calls thanks to its built-in mic and speaker. Other features include an accelerometer, altimeter and IP68 rating. The SmartBand Talk will be available in white and black colour options.

Will Sony finally be able to get into the wearable device market with these two products? Only time will tell.
