Motorola may bring the MotoMaker customisation options to its wearables including the Moto360 smartwatch in the future.
Motorola Mobility, which offers vast customization options for its Moto X smartphone, reportedly considering bringing the same options to its wearables.
The smartphone maker offers personalisations on its MotoX smartphone through its MotoMaker website. When asked in an interview recently whether Motorola may bring the same capabilities to its wearables including the Moto 360 smartwatch, Motorola Chief Operating Officer Rick Osterloh replied 'Could be.'
Although this is not a definitive yes or no, it strongly hints that Motorola is looking into a Moto 360 Moto Maker option. Osterloh added that their are no major announcements surrounding that level of customization as yet, but that the intuition was very good. This leads us to safely assume that Motorola may have some customization plans for the Moto 360, or even for the Moto 360's successor.
Motorola Chief Operating Officer Rick Osterloh said in an interview, "We have no major announcements in this area, but I think your intuition is very good."
Motorola Moto 360 launched last year stood out from the other smartwatches due to its round design, and premium materials like metal and leather used. However soon after LG launched the G Watch R, and now other smartwatch makers are also following with a wearable with a similar round design. Apple with the much anticipated Apple Watch is offering loads of customization options including premium materials. If Motorola gives users the option of personalization through the Moto Maker, it will set itself apart in the burgeoning smartwatch maker.
