HIGHLIGHTS

LG Watch Sport and Watch Style feature circular P-OLED displays and Snapdragon processors

LG Watch Sport and Watch Style, the first smartwatches running Android Wear 2.0 are now official. The smartwatches are being designed in conjunction with Google, for a seamless experience on the wrist. Both LG Watch Sport and Watch Style feature circular P-OLED displays, 4GB ROM and are powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset.

LG Watch Sport is the clear flagship here and it exploits all the features of Android Wear 2.0. The smartwatch offers a 1.38-inch display with 480 x 480 pixel resolution, 768MB RAM and a 430mAh battery. The Watch Sport also comes packed with built-in gyroscope, accelerometer, barometer and onboard GPS – which will appeal to fitness-centric smartwatch buyers. It also has LTE connectivity for wireless notifications and NFC for Android Pay.

LG Watch Style, on the other hand, sports a smaller 1.2-inch display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. It comes with only 512MB RAM and a smaller 240mAh battery. It also skips on Watch Sport's top features like LTE, GPS and NFC, making it incompatible with Android Pay. The Watch Style is considerably thinner than the Watch Sport, and will come in three colour options – titanium, rose gold, and silver.

Both LG Watch Sport and Watch Style use 316L stainless steel for their casing. The Watch Sport is IP68 water and dust resistant while Watch Style gets IP67 certification.

LG has priced Watch Sport at $349 and the Watch Style at $249. The rose gold version of Watch Style comes at a little premium of $279. The smartwatches will be available starting February 10 in the US and the company is yet to confirm its availability in other markets.
