Rumoured Mi Mix 4 to sport 64MP camera sensor.

A company executive has claimed that it will have a ‘better’ sensor than the Samsung GW1.

Basis this, it could be speculated that Sony might be coming up with a 64MP sensor.

In May, a report claimed that Xiaomi is developing a Mi-brand smartphone that is likely to incorporate the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. Rumoured to be called as the Mi Mix 4, the phone is in the news again. Based on a brief conversation on Chinese social media platform Weibo, it is now being reported that the alleged Mi Mix 4 will sport a 64MP sensor and it will not be Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor.

While replying to fan on Weibo, Wang Teng Thomas, Xiaomi Product Director, claimed (via piunikaweb) that the rumoured Mi Mix 4 will have a camera that should be ‘better than’ the Samsung GW1 64MP sensor. It is the first and currently the only 64MP sensor which is commercially available in the market. Realme has already announced that it is working on a new phone with this camera module. The development related to Xiaomi’s phone indicates that the company could incorporate a new sensor possibly made by Sony.

According to previously available info, the rumoured Mi Mix 4 bears the codename 'Hercules'. Further, if Xiaomi sticks to its smartphone release schedule, then the phone in question could be called Mi Mix 3S. As mentioned, it is expected to come equipped with a Snapdragon 855 chipset. It could sport three cameras on the back and a single shooter on the front. The smartphone might feature an in-display fingerprint sensor and it is touted to support NFC. Citing a source code, Mishal Rehman, Editor-in-chief of XDA Developers, said that the phone could come with wireless charging support.

Xioami’s spin-off brand Redmi recently launched the K20 Pro in China with the Snapdragon 855 chipset, in-display fingerprint sensor, a triple camera display on the back and a pop-up front shooter. The phone will be unveiled in India on July 17.
