Xiaomi has posted a teaser for the Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone on its forum. The image shows the device peeking out of a user’s pocket suggesting that the upcoming device will be compact enough to fit inside a pocket. The post doesn’t reveal much about the specifications of the upcoming device, but asks users to guess the size of the upcoming device. Previous reports have suggested that the Mi Max will have a 6.4-inch display. The only information provided by the post is that the device will not have the Mi logo in the front of the device.
Last week, images alleged to show the front panel of the Xiaomi Mi Max were leaked online. The device is tipped to come with a 6.4-inch QHD display, which would make it the largest smartphone manufactured by the company. Rumours also suggest that the device may be powered by the Snapdragon 820 SoC, making it the second smartphone by Xiaomi to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship SoC. In addition, the image shows capacitive buttons located at the bottom of the display suggesting the upcoming device may not come with a fingerprint sensor located on the home button, like on the Mi 5. However, the sensor may instead be located on the rear of the phone. In a post on Weibo, the company confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi Max will be launched on May 10 in Beijing.
