Xiaomi teases ‘some exciting days ahead’ via its Twitter account
HIGHLIGHTS

Xiaomi India’s Twitter account has posted two teasers that allude to the numbers three, four, and five, which could point to a Diwali sale on those dates, or maybe even the launch of a new product

Xiaomi India has posted a couple of teasers via its official Twitter handle, that hint at something related to the numbers three, four, and five. The first image shows three sets of firecrackers arranged in groups of three, four, and five, and the second shows ‘CCCXLV’, which is roman numeral for 345. Nothing else has been mentioned, apart from these.

Speculatively, Xiaomi is possibly talking about dates in the two teasers. A Diwali special sale, to be held between November 3 and 5, is one plausible interpretation. The company may offer discounts on its products across e-commerce sites and on its own online store, Mi.com. The second tweet says,

It is also possible that the company might be launching new product(s) soon, in order to compete with other manufacturers during the festive season. It has been a while since the company has launched a new phone in India, and many of its competitors like Meizu have launched new devices since Xiaomi's last. It may launch finally launch the Redmi Note 2 in India. However, if it does so, it would probably have to have a Qualcomm SoC – possibly the Snapdragon 615, and not the MediaTek Helio X10, seeing that Xiaomi is banned from selling any phone in the country that is powered by a MediaTek processor. The ban was put in place by the Delhi High Court in December 2014, due to patent infringement. It could, however, launch the Mi Note Pro in India, as it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, and not MediaTek. The device comes with a 5.7-inch display, with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels. It has 4GB of RAM, and the processor has been clocked at 2GHz. At the back is a 13MP camera, while at the front is a 4MP camera. It also comes with a 3090mAh battery pack, supporting Quick Charge 2.0. Xiaomi might also launch the Mi 4c in India, which is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor.

However, Xiaomi also has a huge catalogue of other products in its portfolio and may choose to launch one of them in the country. Xiaomi has launched TVs, air and water purifiers, and even a two-wheeled electric scooter. For all we know, three, four and five could be alluding to the price of the new product and it might just launch the next generation of the Mi USB Fan, which might be a slight anticlimax for Xiaomi fans. Looks like we will have to wait, to find out.
