Xiaomi teases launch of two phones on November 11

Xiaomi is teasing the launch of two new smartphones on November 11. The teaser of posted on the company’s Weibo account says, “Mi Dual 11” which hints at the release date. The teaser also shows a smartphone hidden behind a curtain. Although the teaser did not reveal which smartphones will be launched that day, rumours suggest that it may be the Xiaomi Mi 5 and the Redmi Note 2 Pro. It was earlier reported that Xiaomi was planning on releasing the Mi 5 on December 3. The phone is rumored to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. However, other rumours suggest that the phone may be powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset instead. The phone is also tipped to come with a 5.5-inch QHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It may also come with 4GB of RAM and may come in 16GB and 64GB variants. The device is also tipped to come with a 16MP camera at the back and an 8MP camera in the front. Last month, it was also reported that Xiaomi had filed patents for a pressure sensing touchscreen technology. It is also possible that Xiaomi might partner with Synaptics to include the latter’s ClearForce technology on its upcoming flagship phone.

The Redmi Note 2 Pro has been tipped to be an upgraded version of the Redmi Note 2 with a metallic body and a fingerprint sensor. Images leaked by Mobile-dad suggest the same while also stating the other specification of the phone will be identical to the Redmi Note 2. The device comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio X10 SoC and 2GB of RAM. At the back of the phone is a 13MP camera and at the front is a 5MP camera.

Xiaomi has also announced the Mi Band 1S in China. The Mi Band 1S allows the user to track their heart rate, calories burnt during exercise, and count the number of steps taken. It can also unlock the user’s Xiaomi phone and vibrate when the phone receives a notification.
