Xiaomi Redmi 4A, the newest entry-level smartphone from the Chinese smartphone maker will go on its first sale today on Amazon ​India and Mi store. The Redmi 4A is pitched as the successor to 2014’s Redmi 1S and like most Xiaomi smartphones, the Redmi 4A hits the sweet spot with its price tag of Rs 5,999.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A is aimed at first time smartphone buyers and those looking to buy smartphone on a tight budget. It sports a 5-inch 720p HD display and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 425 CPU. Under the hood, there is 2GB RAM and 16GB expandable storage. 

As far as the camera is concerned, the Redmi 4A features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. The Redmi 4A lacks a fingerprint sensor but offers a decent 3120mAh battery along with Quick Charge support. Xiaomi has also commenced operations on its second local manufacturing unit and claims to build a new phone every second. At Rs 5,999, Xiaomi Redmi 4A makes a good case for an entry-level smartphone, but the company will soon be launching the successor to Redmi 3S.

In our first impressions, we noted that the Xiaomi Redmi 4A seems apt for the budget buyer and at Rs 5,999, there’s not much that seems worth complaining about, barring of course, the storage.  On the connectivity front, Xiaomi Redmi 4A is a dual-SIM smartphone and supports 4G LTE.
