Xiaomi cuts Mi4 pricing by Rs. 2,000 for both variants.
Xiaomi cuts price of Mi4 by Rs 2000, brings the price down to Rs 17,999 for 16GB variant and Rs 21,999 for the 64GB variant.
Xiaomi has reduced the price of its flagship Mi 4 smartphone by Rs 2000. The 16 GB variants price has been cut from Rs 19,999 to Rs. 17,999, while the 64GB model will now retail at Rs. 21,999, instead of Rs. 23,999. The new prices will be available through ecommerce retailer Flipkart, Amazon India, Snapdeal as well as The Mobile Store.
Xiaomi India Head, Manu Kumar Jain confirmed the news in a tweet and stated that this is a permanent price cut for the Xiaomi Mi 4. He tweeted, "Mi4PriceDrop – Great news! Starting today 12 noon, we're dropping the price of Mi 4: 16GB will now go for Rs 17,999, n 64GB for Rs 21,999."
The new price cut makes the Mi 4 16GB variant price Rs. 1,000 cheaper than the flagship killer OnePlus One (16GB) and the Mi 4 64GB down to the price of the '2014 flagship killer' OnePlus One 64GB variant.
The Mi 4 has a 5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection display. It has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 2.5-GHz processor with 3 GB of RAM. Connectivity options included in the Mi4 are 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. It has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. The smartphone has a 3080 mAh battery with quick charge 2.0 and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with MIUI 6 on top.
Xiaomi had reduced the price of the Mi4 during its 5 year anniversary sale and the company had seen record sales, so they have decided to make the price reduction permanent. Xiaomi had announced a similar price drop for Xiomi Mi 4 (16GB) variant in China as well. Xiaomi racked in approximately $335 billion during the Mi Fan Festival and set a world record for ‘Most number of phones sold online over 24 hours’.
Xiaomi is also planning to launch a new smartphone on April 24th, which according to rumors will be the Mi 4i a new variant of the Mi4. A Xiaomi smartphone with 4i name has spotted on Geekbench benchmark site and on Singapore's Infocomm Development Authority database. The company's media invites also stated that an “i is coming”. According to rumors, the Mi 4i will have a 4.9-inch full HD display, 1.65 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM and will run Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS. The smartphone is expected to have a 12MP rear camera and 5MP front facing camera.
