Xiaomi executive teases Mi A3 India launch on Twitter.
The Mi A3 is an Android One version of the Xiaomi CC9e.
The phone was first launched in Spain.
Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi India Managing Director, has teased the India launch of the company's “upcoming Android One smartphone” on Twitter. The Xiaomi Corporation Vice President shared a video on the microblogging website in which he plays “a game” with the Google Assistant. Basically, the whole exercise is to reiterate Xiaomi India’s success and making the Mi A3 launch official.
The news comes at a time when there are reports, which claim that the new Xiaomi Mi A3(₹ 12068 at paytm) could be launched in India on August 23. Jain, however, has not revealed the launch date. In fact, the claims made by Smartpix are based on the word of a “well-placed industry source”. In India, the Mi A3 is expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset and will likely be complemented by up to 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage.
The Xiaomi Mi A3 is essentially an Android One version of the Xiaomi CC9e, which was recently launched in China. The phone has already been launched in Spain, France and in Poland. As mentioned, the phone is an Android One handset, which means that the phone will receive major Android updates for two years and security updates for the next three years.
The Mi A3 sports a 6.08-inch Super AMOLED HD+ display with a resolution of 1560 x 720 pixels, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and the handset comes equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor and features a waterdrop notch. It is backed by a 4030mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 with 18W Fast Charge. There’s a USB Type-C port for charging and it also comes with a 3.5mm audio jack.
In terms of optics, the Mi A3 features triple rear cameras, which consist of a Sony 48MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture lens. The main camera is supplemented by an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and there’s a 2MP depth sensor. The rear camera on the phone supports AI portrait mode and can record 4K video at 30fps and slow motion Full HD video at 120fps. On the front is a 32MP sensor, which is paired with an f/2.0 aperture lens and comes with support for AI Face Unlock and Panorama selfie.
