HIGHLIGHTS

Sporting an IPL logo on the rear and a cricket theme pre-installed, prices for the Vivo V5 Plus Limited Edition will be announced on April 10

Vivo has launched a limited edition version of its V5 Plus smartphone to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the IPL. Called the Vivo V5 Plus Limited Edition, the smartphone sports a Matte Black finish, the Vivo IPL logo at the back and a new cricket-based theme. Prices for the phone will be announced on April 10, which is also when the phone will be available for purchase. The smartphone will be available on Flipkart, Vivo exclusive stores, and trade outlets. To recall, the standard version of the Vivo V5 Plus was launched at Rs. 27,980.

The new finish of the phone is pretty similar to the matte black finished that was used by OnePlus on the OnePlus 3T Midnight Black variant. However, the Vivo V5 Plus Limited Edition comes with a couple of cricket related features. This includes a Vivo IPL logo at the back of the phone along with a new cricket-based theme. It should be noted that the new theme isn’t exclusive to the smartphone. It can be downloaded on any Vivo smartphone launched after October 1, 2015 via the company’s i Theme app.

Aside from this, the phone is identical to the standard Vivo V5 Plus. The highlight of the phone is still the dual-front camera setup consisting of 20MP and 8MP cameras, which are used to create bokeh selfies. The soft glow front facing LED flash, which is called Moonlight Flash by the company is also present. At the back of the phone is a 16MP camera.

The device sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 platform with 4GB of RAM. The device is equipped with a 3055mAh battery and offers 64GB of storage. It runs Funtouch OS 3.0, which is based on Android Marshmallow.
