- The phone will also have 12GB RAM and 256GB storage
Vivo sub-brand IQOO’s first phone will be a flagship device and will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor along with a 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage, the company has hinted in a latest poster. The teaser-poster has been shared on company’s official Weibo account that suggests high-end specifications. With 12GB RAM, the phone will join the club that has the likes of Lenovo G5 Pro GT, Xiaomi Mi 9 with transparent back and the rumoured special edition Samsung Galaxy S10+.
The teaser-poster shared also suggests that it will come with a 44W Fast Charging tech. Currently, Oppo’s Super VOOC charging with 50W output is the fastest tech available for smartphones. IQOO, however, will take the second spot from Huawei that has a 40W Super Charge tech. The image also suggests that the phone will have a 4,000mAh battery, a USB Type-C port, NFC, Super HDR for the cameras, and 4D Smart Shock, which is basically the haptic feedback for a better gaming experience.
The phone made its first public appearance during the broadcast of the NBA All Star game. The phone was seen sporting a design that is generally seen on Huawei and Honor devices. There is a vertically aligned triple camera setup on the back with the flash sitting just below the the three cameras. Reportedly, the company will incorporate a sixth-generation in-display fingerprint sensor. It could be possible that the company may incorporate a pop-up front camera for selfies.
A previous report claimed that the phone could be priced at CNY 7000 which is approx Rs 74,000. IQOO hasn’t released the launch date of the phone but it is expected to unveil it in a few weeks. Given the specifications and teasers, it looks like that this could be a gaming device, and it will compete with other gaming phones like Razer phone, Nubia Red Magic, Asus ROG Phone and Xiaomi Black Shark.
