An alleged official render of the Moto Z3 Play has been leaked online and it shows that Motorola could be expanding the screen real estate by shifting the Home button to the side of the smartphone.

The Moto Z3 Play has been circulating on the internet in the form of numerous leaks and concept renders. The next modular Moto smartphone has also reached the US FCC for certification and was spotted featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC and 4GB RAM. Now, Android Headlines claims to have obtained an official render image of the phone which confirms that Lenovo-owned Moto might be expanding the screen real estate on the Z3 Play by shifting the Home button of the device to the side.

The alleged render of the Moto Z3 Play shows a tall display, possibly featuring an 18:9 aspect ratio. It has an all screen design which is not broken by the the presence of a fingerprint scanner/home button. Instead, a longer button can be seen on the side of the expected 6-inch FHD+ display, which will probably double up as the home button and the fingerprint scanner.

A dual camera setup can be spotted at the back of the device in a familiar circular housing. This is a departure from the previous Moto Z2 Play which featured a single 12MP primary camera. If rumours are to be believed, the Moto Z3 Play could feature a 12MP + 8MP dual rear camera setup. The Moto Mod connector pins can also be spotted at the back of the device and they look like they will support all existing Moto Mods.

While the US FCC listing did suggest that the Moto Z3 Play will come with 4GB Ram and 32GB storage, the device is also expected to have a 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant for non-US markets. A 5MP front camera and a 3,000mAh battery are also expected to feature on the smartphone, which could launch sometime in June.

Moto recently unveiled its ‘G6’ and ‘E5’ series of smartphones with three devices in each lineup. All smartphones come with Android 8.0 Oreo. You can read about them here.
