Sneak peek at Micromax’s upcoming Vdeo 4 smartphone bundled with Google Duo
Micromax is also supposed to reveal 3 other devices in its special Vdeo series of smartphones, which will also come with Google Duo pre-installed on them.
Smartphone manufacturer Micromax is set to launch a new series of 4G smartphones with Google’s latest video calling app – Google Duo, preinstalled on them. Digit has now obtained photos of one of these devices through unofficial sources.
As you can see in the image above, the device is being called Vdeo 4, evidently because of the partnership with Google Duo. Duo is a simple video-calling app that is made for choppy internet connections. Just like WhatsApp, Google Duo is tied to a user’s mobile number, instead of an email ID.
Micromax co-founder Vikas Jain recently told PTI, “Video calling is perceived to be a very urban phenomenon and niche but at Micromax, we believe that there is a huge potential to massify the service by taking it beyond the tier 1 markets where Micromax has an unmatched edge.”
The image also shows that the new device by Micromax will be VoLTE enabled, hence it will support VoLTE calls on 4G-only network Reliance Jio. Micromax is also supposed to reveal 3 other devices in its special Vdeo series of smartphones, which will also come with Google Duo pre-installed on them.
