Samsung has teased a display feature focused on privacy, and all signs point to it debuting with the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. While the company avoided using the exact term “privacy display,” the language it used makes the goal very clear: stopping people nearby from peeking at your screen. In a recent press release, Samsung talked about “privacy at a pixel level” and protecting users from shoulder surfing when using their phones in public. This strongly suggests a display that looks normal when viewed straight on, but becomes harder to see from the sides. That idea matches earlier leaks, including an animation spotted in the One UI 8.5 beta that showed the screen darkening as the phone tilted left or right.
SurveyThe mention of pixel-level privacy is important because it hints that this is not just a software feature. Instead, it likely relies on new display hardware. According to SamMobile, it could be Samsung’s Flex Magic Pixel OLED technology, which the company showed off at Mobile World Congress 2025.

Some early leaks claimed Samsung would use AI to control how the privacy display behaves. However, Samsung’s announcement does not mention AI at all.
What Samsung has clearly highlighted is customisation. Users will be able to decide which apps automatically turn on the privacy display. It can be set to be activated when you enter passwords or type into sensitive fields.

It’s important to note that Samsung has said the feature is “coming to Galaxy very soon” and specifically does not mention the Galaxy S26. However, it is highly likely the feature will launch with the Galaxy S26 series.
