Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Glossy Black variant leaks ahead of official launch
HIGHLIGHTS

The new Glossy Black version of Galaxy S7 Edge is expected to arrive sometime in December

Samsung is reportedly working on "Glossy Black" variant of Galaxy S7 Edge in order to compete with the popularity of Apple's Jet Black and Black iPhone 7 variants. Now the first images of the device have appeared on Chinese microblogging site, Weibo. The leaked images show a shiny new Galaxy S7 Edge that now seems more similar to Olympic Games edition, of course minus the branding.

The new Glossy Black version of Galaxy S7 Edge is expected to arrive sometime in December. Samsung recently introduced the Coral Blue version of its Galaxy S7 Edge in order to catch up on the holiday buying season. The images posted on Weibo comes from a China-based Samsung official who shows the glossy black device from all possible angles.

The images show the black metal chassis of the device and even a regular Galaxy S7 Edge appears in the background next to the glossy black version. Samsung is trying to catch up on the lost momentum with Galaxy Note7 by introducing new colour variants of its successful Galaxy S7 range.

Samsung is reportedly working on its next flagship Galaxy S8 smartphone with a built-in voice assistant. The rumours indicate that Galaxy S8 might not arrive anytime before April but it might well be one of the first devices to house Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 835 processor. That phone might well come with glossy black and coral blue colour variants right at the time of launch.
