Samsung Galaxy S10 Series of phones are getting major camera update with improved night mode
  • Samsung releases update for Galaxy S10 Series of phones in Switzerland.
  • It brings updates to camera and May Android security patch.

Samsung has started to roll out a major update to all the three phones belonging to the Galaxy S10-Series. The update brings the May security update as well as enhancements to the dedicated night mode feature on the phones. It also adds a couple of new camera functionalities. The update is first rolled out to users in Switzerland, and there is no information on its roll out to Indian users.

When Samsung launched the Galaxy S10-Series of phones, the Super Night Shot was a bit problematic, and it didn’t become active in most scenarios (Galaxy S10+ Review). The update reportedly brings tweaks to this functionality which apparently makes photos shot in low-light conditions less noisy. The photos clicked with long shutter speeds are reportedly coming out better than before.

Further, those who have the update installed on their phones, can now use the ultra wide f/2.2 camera in Night mode. Samsung has also expanded the Live Focus feature support to the telephoto lenses on the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+ smartphones. This means that users will be able to get better background blur when an image is clicked using the Telephoto lens.

Both the Samsung Galaxy S10(₹ 91900 at amazon)+ and the S10 sport triple cameras with Dual OIS support. They have 12MP telephoto + 12MP wide-angle + 16MP ultra wide-angle camera setup on the back. On the front, the Galaxy S10+ has dual cameras with a 10MP sensor that supports dual-pixel AF and an 8MP RGB sensor. The Galaxy S10 has an 8MP ultra-wide selfie shooter. The Samsung Galaxy S10e, on the other hand, features a dual 12MP + 16MP camera setup with a wide angle and ultra wide angle lens respectively. It gets a 10MP camera on the front.
