Samsung has launched the Galaxy J3 smartphone in India. The device is priced at Rs. 8,999 and will be exclusively available on Snapdeal. The highlight of the phone is its ‘S Bike Mode’ that is aimed at helping motorcycle riders concentrate on the road and not get distracted by calls or notifications. Buyers will receive an NFC tag that they need to attach to their bikes and tapping the phone on the tag will activate the feature. Once activated, S Bike will ensure that the rider is not disturbed by incoming calls and notifications. If anyone calls when the users is riding, they will be greeted with a pre-recorded message in one of 14 indian languages. In case of emergencies though, callers can press 1 to make the call go through. However, S Bike activates a motion lock feature that prevents the call from being received if the bike is in motion. In addition, S Bike will also provide the rider with statistics of their ride.
The Samsung Galaxy J3 comes with a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM. At the back is an 8MP primary camera along with a 5MP front camera. It offers 8GB of storage along with a 2600mAh battery. The phone runs Android Lollipop with TouchWiz UI layered over it.
